The stays I remember most weren't the ones with the most beautiful rooms. They were the ones where something inside me shifted: with my partner, or alone with myself. That had very little to do with the installations. It had to do with what the property allowed: permission to arrive, and a structure that held the evening once I did.
The other half was on me. I had to be willing to meet the experience. Most guests want that, and don't quite know how to get there alone. So the moment never happens, and the stay is remembered as nice, instead of as something that changed them.

A couple celebrates their tenth anniversary in your fireplace suite. The ritual opens with the year behind them, sat by the fire. The next night, another couple takes the same suite to repair after a hard one. The fire stays. The framing changes. The opening asks what they need to set down before anything else can begin.
